Privacy

Short version: this is a personal blog. It doesn't track you, doesn't set advertising cookies, and doesn't sell anything to anyone.

What gets collected

The contact form. If you send a message through /contact, the name, email address, and message you submit are emailed to me so I can reply. That's the only thing they're used for.

The newsletter signup. If you sign up at /newsletter, your email address is stored so I can email you if and when the newsletter actually launches. The newsletter isn't running yet — signup is capture-only for now.

Site health telemetry. I use Azure Application Insights to monitor whether the site is up and roughly how much traffic it gets. It records technical request data — pages requested, browser type, approximate location derived from IP. It is not used to build an advertising profile of you, and it is not shared with anyone.

Cookies

The only cookie this site sets is the admin sign-in cookie, and only the site owner ever signs in. There are no tracking cookies, no Google Analytics, no third-party ad pixels.

Removing your data

Want your contact-form message or newsletter signup deleted? Email jeff@townbackyard.com and I'll take care of it.
